Overview
For Khodiyar Group, an auto parts distribution company, I worked as a Graphic Designer to modernize their branding by refining their logo and creating consistent marketing materials. Their previous logo was a gradient design that didn’t translate well across different media. My objective was to redesign the logo into a flatter, minimalist version that retained the brand's essence and could be used seamlessly across print and digital platforms. Along with the logo redesign, I developed a full branding suite, including business cards, employee IDs, letterheads, and a company profile brochure.
Challenges
The original logo was a gradient-based design that did not scale well or adapt easily to different media formats, especially for print and digital purposes. The challenge was to modernize the logo without making drastic changes that would disrupt brand recognition.
Khodiyar Group's branding elements, from business cards to social media posts, lacked cohesion. It was necessary to create consistent branding across various touchpoints, ensuring visual harmony in both print and digital formats.
While the company wanted updates, they didn’t want significant changes to the logo design. The challenge was to work within these restrictions and still create a refreshed, modern look.
Solution
I redesigned the logo, keeping its core structure intact while removing the gradient and implementing a flat, versatile look. The new design is minimal, making it suitable for use across all platforms—digital and print—while retaining its recognizability. I adjusted the primary blue color to fit the brand's identity and modern design standards.
To ensure consistency across all marketing materials, I designed a cohesive branding package that included business cards, employee IDs, letterheads, and a company profile brochure. This new branding aligned with the updated logo and ensured visual uniformity across all print materials.
In addition to print materials, I also designed various social media marketing posts. This included festival greetings, advertisement banners, and promotional posts that adhered to the company's new branding guidelines, enhancing their digital presence.
Research
User Insights
Feedback from both internal stakeholders and clients highlighted the need for a more modern, professional look that resonated with the auto parts distribution industry while maintaining the brand's identity.
Competitive Landscape
I analyzed other companies within the automotive distribution sector and found that many had adopted more modern, minimal logos that scaled well across various platforms. This insight guided the design choices for Khodiyar Group, ensuring that their updated brand aligned with industry standards.
Implementation
Iteration Process
The design process went through several iterations, from adjusting the color scheme and typography to balancing the minimalist aesthetic with the company’s preference for a recognizable brand. Each round of feedback allowed me to fine-tune the logo and marketing materials until they achieved the perfect blend of modernity and tradition.
Print & Digital Alignment
I ensured that all designs, including the logo, business cards, and social media posts, followed the same visual language, creating a consistent brand experience whether in print or on digital platforms.
Testing
We tested the new logo and branding materials on various platforms (print, digital, and social media) to ensure that the design maintained its integrity across different formats. The final logo and designs performed well in both small and large-scale formats, ensuring brand consistency.
